Life Is Beauty-FULL

11 Aug

Beauty abounds everywhere

I have found

And sight alone is not its audience

There is abundance of it

Enough to sate, serenade, soak and soothe the whole senses

Hear it…

In the sound of carefree gleeful laughter

Tossed up into the sky

In gentle giggles whispered into the wind

In the delighted squeal of a tickled child

In the ripple of pouring water

Taste it…

In the gripping relief of ice-cold gari ijebu and coconut/groundnut

At the peak of a hot Lagos afternoon

In the mercurial sensation of eating salt-and-sugar popcorn

In the mouth-watering smack of sour stuff

In the surprising gooey core of hard chocolate

Smell it…

In the tastebud-swarming smell of freshly-cut grasses

In the earthy mix of cologne draped in manly musk

In the crisp clear odorlessness of untainted morning breeze

Feel it…

In the sultry seduction of silk

In the comforting cuddle of cotton

In the ticklish tease of beards against smooth skin

In the sensation of moist warm lips against flaming skin

In the prickly brush grass points against naked running limbs

See it…

In the beautiful balance in the contrast of dark against light

In the bareness of a leafless tree against the skyline

In the blood-orange of an evening sunset

In the crooked tilt of an imperfect smile

In the refreshing difference of the unconventional

Oh who ever said beauty is in the eyes of the beholder

Beauty is everywhere

The beholder only chooses what beauty he sees

P.S. I’d really like to read what beauty is to your senses…what tingles your senses…what make you go WOW! Express in the comment box.

Cheers!

Hmmmm. Let me remix mine; Smell, taste, sight, sound, touch….as I call it. All are really so beautiful to behold and experience. When U’ve got all 6 senses as in Sixth Sense, then U finally know that it is the most beautiful in the eyes of the beholder both physically and spiritually depending on the level of ones intuition. A very pushful write up. Its deep and U just swept me off my feet, not everyone does that. Thank U. My sweet Toyosi bom bom 1. Lol

Hey M.O.3! Great to read your reply. I like your spin of the 6th sense into it…beauty indeed is what you make of it.

      cheers!

    Indeed beauty abounds everywhere.
In the toothless smile of the old,
In the loud release of long held-in fart,
In the awkward bump of heads before a first kiss,
In the cacophony of early morning Lagos traffic,
In the rapturous abandon of copulating beings

    Yes it abounds everywhere.

Nice piece sis. Keep the ink flowing.

    Wow! Beautiful!
    Beauty surpasses beauty,
    But all beauty is beautiful.
Beauty to beauty, casting beauty for beauty…
From the invigoration of the rising sun, the sweet melodious sounds of the birds…the long romantic walks by the beach, the brushing of the cool evening ocean breeze against your skin..
Life in it self is beautiful.

I’ve not been here in a while but it’s good to be back.

Beauty is in holding a new born in your arms
Beauty is in the hair at the nape of your neck with a mind of its own
Beauty is in the dry smell harmattan brings
Beauty is in that quick flash of dimple I see on your cheeks
Beauty is in the color splurge known as Earth
Beauty is in that pitch your voice gets when you are excited
Beauty is in the eyes of a child as it twinkles in pure joy
Beauty is in that ever warming hug that expresses things words can’t communicate.
    Beauty, Ore Mi, is YOU…

Life and nature are similar concepts because nature is the study of how life acts and interacts within the circle of existence. When we take the time to examine the beauty of the world around us, we are able to see parallels within our own lives. One who is attuned with nature is attuned with the practice of living.
Beauty gives us pleasure though inspiration.
Beauty is in your chinese eyes.
